Glyn (1971) was named after one of Oliver Goldsmith’s best craftsmen who had worked for them for over 30 years before retiring at the ripe old age of 75. “He designed this frame for himself and it was the last frame he did before heading off to enjoy a life of cruising around the world with his lovely wife wife who was about 30!”
Glyn is a well-fitting plastic aviator that is a perfect embodiment of the decade. Handmade of the finest Italian acetate, it features a unique cut-out at the bridge, and real hand drilled riveted hinges with exposed circular pins.
For those who have emailed, yes, these are the sunglasses and the color worn in the FX series Mayans M.C. by actor JD Pardo. According to Pardo, he wanted something with equal parts “class and style for EZ” that gave off vibes of the iconic frames worn by Paul Newman.
