Garrett Leight Resort 2013 | Speedway T

Back in black with a powder coat finish, the ‘SPEEDWAY T’ sunglasses.

The Garrett Leight “Speedway with Top Bar” is an aviator which was specifically inspired by a frame worn by gonzo journalist Hunter S. Thompson in the late 1960’s and worn consistently through the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s. Originally introduced in Garrett Leight’s first season, it returns in the Resort collection with a new limited edition powder-coat color treatment. The powder-coated finish gives the metal a matte appearance, as well as durability from the elements.

Available in two colors, our favorite being the Black on Black on Black, that is: black powder-coated metal, black acetate accents, and black lenses, for a clean and modern look. For the more traditionalist, it is also available in a powder-coat silver, with “Honey” accents and brown gradient lenses.

Karen Walker Sunglasses ‘Forever’ | SS 2013

The much anticipated Karen Walker sunglasses Spring/Summer 2013 ‘Forever’ collection is now available.

Whether you are 22 or 92, Karen Walker sunglasses are undeniably beautiful…

Always completely original, Karen Walker doesn’t disappoint this season and delivers a collection which is simultaneously playful, chic, and beaming with vibrant color. Several new shapes are introduced, ranging from an oversized round sunglass named ‘ORBIT’, to a very well proportioned chunky cat-eye design named “NORETHEN LIGHTS”(our favorite), as well as several stunning frames in between.

There is a plethora of colors to choose from, from your classic black to florescent yellow to crystal turquoise or pink. Some beloved best-selling styles also return in new colors, such as the all-popular ‘HARVEST’ in ‘Crazy Tortoise’ or the ‘NUMBER ONE’ in mouthwatering peach.

Unique to this season is Karen Walker’s creative use of signature metal filigree detailing, incorporated both on and encased in the acetate of several of the frames.

The ‘Forever’ campaign, shot by Ari Seth Cohen of ‘Advanced Style’, is a “celebration eternal optimism”. Each model is between 65 and 92 years young and was photographed in their New York homes, all looking stunning in their Karen Walker shades. Vintage Versace Sunglasses

After years of customer requests we have finally decided to offer select sunglasses from our vintage vault to the public — kicking it off here with 4 rare vintage Versace pieces. Each frame is deadstock (mint condition) and in extremely limited quantity. Since they have not been in production for nearly two decades, once sold out that’s it.

Long before the legendary Notorious B.I.G. donned the now iconic Versace shades in his music video ‘Hypnotize’, they were sought after as being an ultimate symbol of opulence. A personification of not only the bold and unapologetic style of the Versace fashion house, but of the late Gianni Versace himself. Versace with his lavish estates spanning the globe, including Milan, Miami Beach, Manhattan, and Lake Como, led many to indulge the “comparison to Roman emperors and Medici princes.”

The most coveted vintage Versace sunglasses are not subtle, but rather evoke an era, style, and culture of success in excess.

The sunglass, entitled ‘Number 1′, goes from strength to strength as each designer imparts their own signature style seamlessly. It combines the clean and classic aesthetic of Garrett Leight with the bolder vibrant colors Thierry Lasry is renowned for.

The Number 1 is a very versatile piece offering the best of two worlds. It features easily removable metal clip-on mirrored lenses, so you can achieve two very different looks with a single sunglass. Michael Bastian once again teams up with Randolph Engineering for a special collection of sunglasses.

American Eyewear brand Randolph Engineering, who has been making classic shades for over four decades, gets a fashion boost from American menswear designer Michael Bastian.

Michael Bastian, known for his clean American-prep styling, puts a twist on several pieces from the Randolph archives, as well as helps create a few completely new designs. From frames with clip-on lenses inspired by James Dean to a squared off masculine 70’s inspired design, there is no shortage of inventiveness in the collection which features both metal and acetate sunglasses and eyeglasses.

It gives us some fresh new staples, such as the Silver Francis (black and silver) series, a much awaited brethren to the beloved Black and Gold’s. As well as technical firsts for the brand, such as full-on colored mirrored Zeiss lenses to keep cool while blocking out that harsh winter glare.

Cutler and Gross Fall/Winter 2012 – “The Golden Trail”

The Cutler and Gross Fall Winter 2012/2013 ‘The Golden Trail’ collection in now in stock.

This season Cutler and Gross takes us on an exotic journey through ‘The Golden Trail’ from India, via Turkey and Marrakesh. Using the star of Morocco as their guide, the ultimate symbol of richness, peace and beauty, they navigate across distant lands to discover hidden opulence.

Throughout the collection there is an adventurous sense of both shape and color. For women, frames recall the 1970’s, with oversized round and octagonal designs. For men, frames are thick and chunky and a twist on classic 60’s styles, with their wide temples and strong brow bars.

Persol 3018S Roadster Edition

Persol pays tribute to their heritage with the Roadster Edition series. A special collection inspired by the classic roadster sports cars of yesteryear. A fitting nod to the Italian brands roots, back when their sunglasses were made for and worn by race car drivers.

The latest Roadster Edition model, the Persol 3018S, with its classic styling and clean lines is a great addition to the series. It features a key-hole bridge, signature Supreme Arrows, and subtle details such as an engraved grill like design on the temple tips. Much like the cars it was inspired by, its beautiful in its simplicity, a timeless design which never goes out of style. As with all Roadster Edition frames it comes complete with special edition packaging, most notably a deep brown supple leather Persol carrying case, a bit reminiscent of a pair of driving gloves.
