Part of Super’s special projects, meant to signify their top range models which are produced in extra limited quantity, Super releases the Ilaria.
The Ilaria transforms the Lucia model with the use of classic havana acetate and gold metal. The havana elegantly dresses the front of the frame and the temple tips while the gold metal gives it a rich contrast. Especially unique to the Ilaria is the gold metal which also outlines the lenses, really highlighting their round shape, as well as providing greater structural integrity.
Limited to 170 pieces total produced, the Ilaria features Super’s signature white box which has always distinguished their special projects, as well as a unique supple all leather carrying case.

The Ksubi 2011 “all seeing” eyewear range, appropriately titled “eye, eye”, gives us a variety of raw yet surprisingly refined and complex pieces. The collection, made up of eleven sunglasses and seven optical models, modernizes post war shapes effortlessly. Some unique elements from the range include metal mesh, welded clip-on’s, eyeglass chains, unique acetates, as well finishes such as antique gold or silver.
The “eye, eye” look book featured below perfectly captures the essence of the line; part “end of days raw”, sophisticated, fashion forward, and very wearable.

The latest drop from Han Kjobenhavn sunglasses.
Just in, Han releases one new model as well as two new colorways to add to their lineup of classic sunglasses.
The new Ed shades from Han are an authentic mid century style “clubmaster”, a little more subdued compared to Ray Ban’s offering. The new colors released for all their styles are: Army Tortoise (classic tokyo tortoise) and Amber Tortoise (a nice color that is somewhere in between the dark tortoise and the army tortoise).

For French Designer Thierry Lasry, eyewear was seemingly destined.
Born the son of a designer and optician, creating his own line of eyewear was a natural and perfect progression. The self entitled brand “Thierry Lasry”, launched in 2006, takes a very fresh avant-garde approach to sunglasses. Based off the concept of “futuristic-vintage” they utilize vintage designs and color palettes, but incorporate an updated modern touch with a surprising ease.
All Hand-Made in France, Thierry Lasry sunglasses use only the best materials. You can just feel the difference in quality. Due to the optical background of the designer they also pay close attention to fit. These are far from your average “look-alike” shades, you can tell the thought that goes into each and every truly stunning piece. You will find no big emblems or logo’s here, the creativity and quality are the corner stone for the brand. For each season’s collection months are spent on everything from meticulously designing the new frames to finding the absolute perfect acetate which will be exclusive to the collection. Ray Ban RB 3428 Road Spirit Sunglasses

Another classic release from Ray Ban.
The new Ray ban RB 3428 Road Spirit sunglasses are a plastic and metal decked out version of the all time classic Ray Ban Aviator RB 3025. Acetate inserts line the eye wire and sweat bar and the frame is fitted with “pull out all the stops” premium lenses. The hard to scratch glass lenses in the Ray Ban Road Spirit have a back surface anti-reflective coating, a flash mirror applied, and are gradient as well as polarized. Ray Ban continues and even elevates their use of high end materials with the Road Spirit, which is a great addition to its line-up of aviators.

The acetate inserts in the metal frame make for a simple, classic, mature pair of Italian sunglasses. They closely resemble a great pair of vintage Armani sunglasses from the late 1980’s / early 90’s . While past season’s Super introduced a number of new shapes, the new Fall Winter 2010 collection is all about the use of a variety of materials. First there was the all leather flat top, now we take a look at the new Metal & Acetate (M&A) sunglasses and eyeglasses.
The Super M&A collection is just as the name implies, a use of “metal and acetate”. Super takes their People and Lucia models and updates them by using gold metal on the temples and bridge. The contrasting combination of the metal and acetate especially on the bridge gives it a very nostalgic classic 1950’s vibe, but still maintains a very young, relevant and current fresh look.
